Laney Stevens

National Hub director

Laney Stevens grew up in Santa Cruz, CA before moving to Southern California and spending most of her adolescence in various SoCal areas. Playing basketball and volleyball her whole life, Laney still found passion in music and dancing, even if just on a random dance floor or concert. Changing her majors, Laney transferred from Pasadena City College to UC Berkeley during the pandemic and graduated in December 2022 with degrees in Dance & Performance Studies, and Film & Media Studies. Her NACHMO 2020 dance film sparked her interest in exploring dance beyond the stage if the stage ever became unavailable. Laney has participated in NACHMO Los Angeles for 3 years and is excited to continue growing the hub in the Bay Area for the third year post-reboot. Coming in as the National Hub Director, Laney is most excited to expand and foster a deeper connected dance community that shares a passion for movement and people.
